Things and stuff

So I was rearranging my office today and realized something...every time I clean I make a bigger mess than before I started. I don't know why or how this happens but it does.

So far on my vacation...

...I went metal detecting Friday afternoon in Daytona and found 1 Canadian quarter, 2 pennies, a dime, and a little bit of aluminum.

Saturday I had to work for a few hours in the morning and headed to the beach after that. I found 1 quarter and a ton of aluminum.

Sunday I did a little running around with the wife and crashed on the couch for a couple hours, woke up and went to mom's house for dinner and watch a movie with the kids.

Today me and the wife went all over the damn place but I discovered an Italian restaurant that makes a lasagna that just might beat my mom's. 41 years and I have never had lasagna that could even compare to mom's...until today.

Yeah, guys worry about their weight too...

When I was in the Army my weight was between 170-175 lbs. For my age and height, my max weight allowed was 179. After returning from Iraq I weighed 155 and that was due to wearing 100 lbs of gear and walking an estimated 100 miles per week on patrols in the desert heat. I think 155 is too low for me but I would be comfortable at around 170.

Having been out of the Army now for almost 8 years, I have packed on some weight. My highest weight was 250 lbs about 2 years ago. Now I generally weigh anywhere from 204 to 210. This weight has caused lower back pain, knee pain, and just a general feeling like shit all the time.

I have two major causes for this weight, the first is the massive consumption of Mountain Dew soft drinks. I would drink 12+ per day and that just isn't good. The second is my eating habit. Its partly due to what I eat which is a lot of junk food but mostly due to how I eat, once a day. That isn't good either because your body stores the food in fat because it doesn't know when you'll eat again.

Since January 1 2012 I have been weighing myself daily and charting it on graph paper. I have also been trying to cut back on sodas and trying to eat more frequently with healthier foods (like bananas) as snacks. The first thing I've noticed is that the first half of the month my weight was all over the chart, bouncing from low to high...203-210 and everything in between. After the first 2 weeks though my weight has started to level out between 204-206. I contribute this to cutting back on the soda as I've only been drinking 2-3 per day.

I will also be trying to eat better and get a little more exercise in the future. I don't like feeling lethargic all the time and I don't like being fat. It's hypocritical to make fun of fat people when you are also fat and I don't want to be a hypocrite :)

Neighbors

This is my neighbor. They are lazy. They put their trash outside the door and it typically stays there for no less than 1 week. These people leave the condo daily and must pass the dumpster on the way out but they never bring their trash with them.

These pics are a couple months old and they finally removed their trash after the HOA left a couple notes on their door. I didn't get a picture of the latest garbage but they had 2 bags outside the door from right after Christmas that stayed there until this past Sunday (Jan. 22, 2012). That's just a couple days short of a month, unfuckingreal!

Hi, I'm Jimmy.

Since I've just introduced myself let me explain what my intent is with this blog. I guess I have the same intent as everyone else when they create a blog...document the ramblings in my head so everyone can read them. Pretty original huh?

About me:

I use profanity...a lot. So if you're thin skinned or easily offended you may not want to read my writings.
I am not politically correct. So again, if you are easily offended you probably won't want to read this blog.
I am not racist, I hate everyone equally.
